Our Formula for Quoting your job
Your typical home can have 7 tons of furniture and goods or
14,000 pounds (1 ton is 2000 lb).
The formula we use to figure moving times is to first figure
how many cubic feet of furniture and boxes the home has by
using a cube sheet. Then figure 7 pounds per cubic foot to come
up with the weight. Then to figure the time needed, you divide
the weight by 600 pounds per man per hour. So in this case at
14,000 pounds we come up with around 23 man hours (14000/600).
So a 3 man crew would do this move in around 8 hours (23/3).
Using this method of calculation has served our customers well
when measuring the value of each job.
